Nick Rowland’s feature debut, adapted from a short story in Colin Barrett’s Young Skins, balances bleak violence with moments of fragile humanity. Jarvis’s performance is fierce, physical, and emotionally raw, earning notice for his ability to convey so much with silence and presence. The film premiered at TIFF 2019 and has been praised for its gothic-realist tone and unflinching gaze into a man’s fractured soul.
